2021 Montana Fish Hard Industries Events -
2021 Application: Will be based on 2-3 person teams. Applicants under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18. Single applicants are welcome to fish. Entry fees will be the same regardless of team size. Waiver: By signing the tournament entry form, all participants agree to a “Release of Liability” Release of Liability: We, in consideration of being permitted to participate in Fish Hard Industries(FHI) Tournaments for ourselves, our heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, hereby release and forever discharge Fish Hard Industries, Master Class Catfishing, Muddy River Catfishing, Catfish Angler Tournament Series, tournament sponsors and any and all sponsoring companies, entities and individuals, from any claim, demand, action or right of action arising from or by reason any bodily or personal injury, death or property damage resulting from any accident which may occur as a result of our participation in any FHI Tournaments. We further release all officials, staff, sponsoring companies from any claim whatsoever on account of first aid treatment or service rendered us during our participation in any FHI Tournaments.

* ONE team member must be in attendance at the rules meeting or have made arrangements prior to the beginning of the rules meeting, or team will be disqualified.
Species: Channel Catfish will be the only allowed fish species.
License: Each entrant must possess a valid Montana fishing license and observe all rules and regulations of Montana FWP. In addition, all anglers must be aware of current Montana fishing license requirements and the current Montana Aquatic Invasive Species and Boating Regulations. Any violation of Montana FWP Regulations or local or state laws while participating in this and any other FHI tournaments is grounds for immediate disqualification.
Contestants: Will enter as 2 or 3 person teams. Any change of team members must be approved by tournament officials no later than the rules meeting before the event. A new application must be signed by all team members. Teams must remain together during tournament hours and all team members must begin and end each event as a team.

Bait: Any legal artificial, live, fresh or frozen baits are allowed.
Contestants must follow all rules and regulations put in place by Montana FWP.
Rod and Reel: This tournament is strictly a rod and reel format. No setlines, jugs, mud sticks, etc may be used during tournament hours.
Only six rods per team regardless of team size, with a maximum of two hooks per rod, as per Montana state law. Extra rods are allowed in anglers possession as long as other rules are followed.
Fishing hours: No boat teams will be allowed to be on the water from the beginning of the rules meeting (7 pm) until after weigh-ins on the final day of the tournament, except for the designated tournament hours. This includes any other type of fishing (other species, bait, etc.)
Boat Contestants: Must follow all rules and regulations put in place by Montana Game and Fish. Teams may not come within 50 feet of one another, unless to pass. Boat is required to have a gas-powered motor. Boat teams are not allowed to exit their boat and fish from shore. Shore access is allowed only for use of the bathroom and emergency situations. Shore fishing is not allowed. In the event of boat malfunction, boat anglers may change to a different vessel, provided the transition is observed by tournament staff and does not require the transportation of fish over the road. If a team requires rescue, both the disabled team and the rescue team must return to tournament headquarters prior to weigh in time. Any teams returning to tournament headquarters after tournament hours will lose their weight for the day. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Catch and Release: All Catfish weighed in during the tournament hours will be released live back into the Yellowstone River. Any fish that are dead or dying will not count towards total weight, nor be eligible for big fish. A minimum of 4 FHI prostaff and 4 entered anglers will be required to take a vote to determine the condition of dead, dying, or tampered fish. All anglers are required to have a live well large enough to hold 5 fish for a minimum of 8 hours. Aeration systems are encouraged, as well as frequent water changes. NO STRINGERS in use at any time during tournament hours. Fish that appear to have been held on a stringer will be immediately disqualified and the team will lose their weight for the day.
Weigh In: Winning weight will be based on a total of 5 catfish per team per day. Any dead, dying, or fish that look to be tampered within any form or fashion will not count as total weight. If a fish looks to have been caged, set lined, or anything not rule or law permitted, contestants will be disqualified from any and all future events put on by FHI events
Check In: All teams must be checked in at the start and finish of tournament hours. Late check in is not allowed and will result in a forfeit for the tournament.
Alcohol/Marijuana: Consumption will not be allowed during tournament hours.
Intent: The tournament sponsor is to promote sportsmanship, fair play and good fun. Cheating and unsportsmanlike conduct will not be permitted and will result in disqualification at this and any future events. Any person(s) caught cheating in any form or fashion will face legal charges and will be disqualified from this and any other FHI events. Identification: Team ID must be worn or displayed and visible at all times. Failure to do so can result in disqualification.
Spot Holds: No one in the tournament is allowed to have anyone or anything hold a spot for them prior to or during tournament hours.
Refunds: Refunds will only be issued if the tournament is full or cancelled by tournament officials.
Complaints: All complaints must be submitted in writing with a $50 non-refundable fee within 1 hour of the end of the tournament.
